Are you ready for Computing Insight UK 2016? We’re raring to go and ready to highlight the various ways high performance computing, data-centric and cognitive technologies are accelerating research, boosting business and changing the world around us. We’re also excited to be bringing this two-day event to a brand new venue at Manchester Central – ideally placed to fit in a spot of shopping, soak up some culture at the city’s various museums, galleries and tourist attractions - or even stop by the Christmas market while you’re there!
The event includes a full day of presentations, talks and panel sessions, an exciting keynote speaker, an exhibition of the latest technologies from the leading hardware and software developers and resellers, an exhibitor forum and a series of breakout sessions running alongside the main programme.
If you have any queries, please contact Computing Insight UK.
Tom Scott | Science communicator, presenter & YouTuber
Creator of a real-life emoji keyboard among his many notable achievements, well-travelled technology buff Tom Scott is a TV presenter, comedian and producer of a widely successful YouTube channel with a major online following. At CIUK 2016, Tom will be taking you on his own personal journey through the trials and tribulations of communicating about science and technology, sharing anecdotes and enlightening you with tips on how to deal with the threats and opportunities of social media and the accelerating pace of change – all sprinkled with a good dose of humour.
“I’m excited to be the keynote speaker for Computing Insight UK in Manchester on 14 December.” Tom says, “I’m speaking about the benefits of engaging people with science and sharing some personal anecdotes about the potential challenges and pitfalls from my own experiences! It’s a talk I’ve wanted to do for a while, so I can’t wait to get started. See you there!”
An avid tech fan himself, Tom has previously co-presented the series Gadget Geeks on Sky 1 HD.
