Tender Opportunities

STFC funds international science facilities on behalf of the UK. These include CERN, ESO, ILL and ESRF. Our own science facilities offer research and development access to both academic and commercial users.

Contract opportunities at these facilities for suppliers also exist in a wide range of sectors across all technology levels; from civil engineering through to precision mechanical engineered parts. We provide free assistance to help UK industry and companies to win contracts to supply goods and services. We provide:

  • Advanced notice of upcoming tenders from CERN, European Southern Observatory (ESO), European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) and, Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), European Spallation Source (ESS) and the Facility of Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR)
  • Support and advice on the tenders processes for our international facilities
  • Targeted events to link you with facility procurement specialists

For questions and more information, please contact the UK Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO) Julie Bellingham.

How to Apply

If you would like to receive tenders in your industry sector or amend your details, go to the STFC tender opportunities registration page.

Tenders at our national facilities and laboratories are managed by UK SBS (UK Shared Business Services). Whilst we do not manage tenders for our national facilities and laboratories, we do hold or advertise industry events where you can meet buyers from these facilities.

What we do

Through our Tender Opportunities Service we provide free assistance to UK companies working in a diverse range of sectors. From office supplies to instrumentation we help businesses to access contracts from the large international science facilities that we fund on behalf of the UK.
