The Hartree Centre’s high performance computing (HPC) capabilities and 3D visualisation suite have enabled consumer goods multinational Unilever to boost its speed and efficiency in developing new home and personal care products.

Access to world-class HPC means Unilever can undertake fast, accurate modelling of different ingredient combinations, cutting the number of physical experiments needed to establish shortlists. Product stability testing can also be reduced from 8-12 weeks to just 45 minutes.

3D visualisation enables R&D data to be explored and linked more quickly and easily – another key aid to Unilever as it continues development of hundreds of new consumer products each year.
