Researchfish is an online system which is pivotal in demonstrating the case for investment in science. STFC has a responsibility to demonstrate the value and impact of research supported through public funding. By using Researchfish we have a central means for researchers to log the outputs, outcomes and impacts that have been realised through STFC’s research funding. Outputs are then made available through the Research Councils’ ‘Gateway to Research’ portal.

Principal investigators and their delegates and/or team members are able to add outputs to their grants at any time throughout the year, ready for RCUK’s submission window. The next submission period for all seven research councils will take place from 5 February 2018 to 15 March 2018. A harmonised common question set, and updated FAQ’s, along with further details about Researchfish, can be found on the RCUK website.

We would like to thank all our researchers who have taken the time to add outputs. This all helps provide a strong evidence base to support the continued funding of research in the UK. We will continue to communicate news updates about Researchfish to ensure you are kept updated with changes to the system.

If you have any questions regarding use of the Researchfish system please contact Researchfish support or for any queries related to your award please contact the central support team within RCUK.

STFC will continue to use the Researchfish outputs collection system which has proved to be invaluable in data analysis, whilst driving to improve the quality of reporting research outcomes to Government, the public and other organisations.
