High Energy Physics system managers
The UK HEP system managers' group held a two day conference in the Atlas Colloquium at RAL with accommodation and dinner at Cosener's House in Abingdon.
These meetings give system managers at about 20 university particle physics departments a chance to get to know each other and exchange advice and expertise on all aspects of computer support. The UK HEP system managers' meetings have been running for nearly ten years, and are typically held twice a year, with a two day meeting at RAL in the spring and a one day meeting at one of the universities in the autumn. The agenda included status reports on the LHC Tier 1 computing service for the GridPP project as well as SCARF and the NGS hosted by e-Science as well as presentations on the tools and issues of concern in HEP computing today.
