Sharon Cosgrove is the Executive Director of Strategy, Planning and Communications. She is also a member of Executive Board.
Sharon Cosgrove is Strategy Director of STFC with responsibility for developing and overseeing the implementation of the organisation’s strategy to deliver the impact agenda. She is has a key role in strengthening STFC’s relationship with Government including developing the response to the Spending Review.
Before joining STFC in May 2009, Sharon was Strategic Director of Oxford City Council with responsibility for strategic partnerships, planning, regeneration and the economy. Earlier local government posts included responding to the Regional Assemblies Bill, rural recovery and regeneration, and leading Lancashire’s minerals and waste planning service.
Sharon was in the Department of the Environment until 1991, working in energy minerals planning policy, including British Coal privatisation, coal planning guidance and the environmental impact of mineral extraction.
