Technology in the National Laboratories

STFC’s national laboratories are at the heart of our technology delivery, providing the building blocks that allow the wide-range of research to be undertaken, pioneering innovative developments that open up new horizons of discovery and supporting the academic community.

Our technologies and competencies are world class, and our expertise ranges from microelectronics to major engineering structures. The calibre and expertise of our staff, and our project and quality management expertise, enables us to deliver unique and advanced high performance engineering projects.

Having developed our technology to meet the demanding requirements of our science and facilities programmes, we have built up a breadth of externally funded work that enables us to deliver this technology to science programmes and institutes worldwide, and to work with industry on commercial exploitation.
