Events at Daresbury Laboratory

Hands on science - prior booking is essential

Come and find out what goes on at one of Europe's largest multi disciplinary research organisations.

Daresbury Laboratory is hosting two hands on science afternoons.

Every person, planet, star and galaxy is part of the Universe - and even every empty space! The Universe is the biggest thing we have a name for. People once thought that Earth was at the centre of the Universe. Now we know Earth is one of the many planets moving through space - come and discover our solar system in the star lab.

  • Make your own rocket...
  • Solve the magic penny magnetic puzzles, find the mystery magnet and learn how electromagnets help produce light
  • Try the best ice cream you've ever tasted, made in seconds
  • Visit our science centre
  • See moon rocks which were brought back to Earth by astronauts in the Apollo mission
  • Messy - hands on science, make your own bouncy ball
  • Learn about light
  • And much more...

All children must be accompanied by an adult. You will not be able to attend unless you have booked in advance:

All events run from 13:00 - 16:00
