Reconstruction, optimization and benchmarking
The RAL group works on Vertex reconstruction and PFA as well as general detector optimization and physics benchnmarks. All the groups activities are shortly summarized below.

Detector optimization
The RAL group has studied the dependence of the detector performance on various detector parameters like the depth and the number of active layers in the HCAL or (below left) or the dependence on the length of the tracker (below right).
All these results have been used to optimize the layout of the SiD (link opens in a new window) detector and have presented at several conferences world-wide.
Physics benchmarks
The RAL group is also actively working on the benchmark channels Higgs to µ µ and top-anti-top to 6 jets.
