BaBar Computing

RAL hosts 1 of the 5 BaBar Tier 1 worldwide sites. In the BaBar computing model, data generated by the experiment at SLAC (link opens in a new window) is distributed amongst the sites. As well as hosting data, Tier1 sites are centres for data analysis and generation of simulated data. The RAL Tier 1 site provides access to over 100 Terabytes of data and more than 500 CPUs to over 100 BaBar users.
