STFC funds ground based solar terrestrial physics (STP) facilities and instruments to enable researchers to study the interaction of the sun with the earth, especially the impact of the solar wind with the earths magnetosphere and ionosphere.

Facilities are funded by STFC to support the UK solar terrestrial physics community. Instruments are funded for the purposes of the host institute. The host institute is encouraged to collaborate with the community but receives no explicit funding for this and offers a service on a best efforts basis only. Any requests for additional instruments to be listed on this website should be directed to STFC, see STFC contact details below.
