New STFC Chair visits Rutherford Appleton Laboratory

Professor Michael Sterling, visited Rutherford Appleton Laboratory yesterday as part of his induction.

He took the opportunity to meet with senior staff from across STFC and to visit ISIS and Central Laser Facility, hear about our space activities and see the new ESA (European Space Agency) Centre on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, as well as touring the Diamond Light Source. He will visit other STFC sites over the coming months.

Professor Sterling’s first Council meeting takes place over two days later this month. He will address STFC staff at their Senior Staff Conference the following day.

Professor Sterling took up the position of Chair of STFC’s Council in August.
