Novel technologies for optometry and opthalmology
KITE Club Knowledge Exchange Service
Novel technologies for optometry and opthalmology
Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London
6 February 2008
Introduction
This meeting will seek to introduce imaging and advanced optics technologies, funded through Science and Technology Facilities Council’s (STFC) programmes, to medical researchers and clinicians working in Ophthalmology. There are a number of projects currently in progress where STFC technologies have been used for ophthalmic applications. This workshop will showcase these projects and suggest areas where further collaborations could take place.
Objectives
The main objective of this meeting is to bring together representatives from the STFC, clinical and industrial communities to stimulate knowledge transfer and broker partnerships for collaborative research and development. We seek to learn some of the technology constraints currently faced by the Ophthalmic community and challenge the STFC community to provide solutions. We further seek to encourage the medical device community to be involved, so that solutions can be taken through to commercialisation.
Audiences
This meeting is free to attend but participation will be kept to a maximum of 35 delegates.
Venue
This meeting will be held on the 6th February 2008, at the Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London.
