Research in industry funding mechanism

STFC Research In Industry funding mechanism aims to engage industry in STFC's programme technology development.

Funding, in specified programme areas, is provided through agreements between STFC and supplier companies, following standard terms and conditions.

Companies may apply funding using the research in industry funding mechanism on their own or as part of a collaboration involving one or more partner organisations, which may be either industrial or academic.

Applications through the research in industry mechanism funding are made by submitting to STFC. A completed and signed proposal form accompanied by a document, known as a Case for Support, setting out the proposed programme of research.

In most cases, prospective applicants will first be required to complete a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ). STFC will assess these and advise prospective applicants whether they meet the minimum qualifying criteria for funding through the research in industry mechanism.
