The STFC Innovations Directorate

The STFC Innovations Directorate supports the flow of technology from the STFC funded research of UK universities and laboratories; CERN and ESO (European Southern Observatory); to industry or to academics from other disciplines towards commercialization through a range of events, brokering, networks and grant funding opportunities.

The Innovations team based at STFC encourage entrepreneurship and partnership formation between STFC funded research groups and UK industry.

These activities are supported through:

• Working with research groups
• Facilitating brokering meetings and workshops
• Visits to companies
• Publicising new initiatives and success stories
• Working with other initiatives and organisations, including Knowledge Transfer Networks, other Research Councils and government departments such as the Ministry of Defence and Department of Health
• Working with professional associations, learned societies, and trade associations
