Every year the UK invests around £460 million in world leading science and technology research through STFC.

STFC funds scientific research in areas such as particle physics, space science and nuclear physics, provides access to world class scientific facilities in both the UK and internationally, and supports the development of scientific and technical expertise in the UK.

Our vision is to maximise the benefits of science for the UK and its people. Our factsheets provide corporate information and facts about our facilities, demonstrate some of the many areas of research we support and showcase the positive impact that the UK’s investment in science is having in a wide range of areas including energy, security, healthcare and the environment.
