Graduate recruitment scheme
Take a voyage of discovery into mind-blowing science at the Science and Technology Facilities Council's scientific and engineering research establishments, which include the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) near Oxford and the Daresbury Laboratory near Manchester.
The Council seeks graduates with good degrees in engineering (mechanical, electrical, control, software and especially electronics and microelectronics), or science (especially physics and computing science). In order to be eligible for our graduate scheme, you need to have obtained your first degree, in a relevant subject, ideally in the 18 months immediately prior to application.
The Graduate Recruitment Scheme (link opens in a new window) provides recent engineering and computer science degree graduates with opportunities to work at STFC-funded institutions, such as the Daresbury or Rutherford Appleton laboratories or the UK Astronomy Technology Centre.
Also provided by the scheme are internal and external training courses and the possibility of overseas travel and work at a world-leading research establishment, such as CERN (link opens in a new window), Institut Laue-Langevin (link opens in a new window)(ILL), ING and others.
