Former STFC Council member - Professor Michael Edmunds

Mike Edmunds is Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Cardiff, where he was previously Head of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Mike was a member of Council from 2005 until 2010.

He has had a long history of strategic involvement in the provision and running of international observatory facilities. Strongly committed to public engagement with science, he is Chair of the STFC’s Education and Public Outreach Advisory Panel, Chair of STFC's Science in Society Advisory Panel and a consultant for the Higher Education Academy.
