Dr Jerome Hastings

Jerome Hastings received his PhD in applied physics from Cornell University in 1975. After spells at both Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, he spent the next 25 years at Brookhaven National Laboratory, moving to SLAC in 2001, where he is now project director of LCLS Ultra-fast Science Instruments (LUSI).

His research interests are in X-ray physics, ultra-fast X-ray optics, and synchrotron radiation instrumentation. He serves on a number of scientiifc advisory panels to existing and future light sources. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
