Science Programmes Office

Janet Seed is the Director of Science Programmes.

The Science Programmes Office (SPO) is responsible for the STFC's science and technology strategy, science operations and planning (including the STFC's processes for peer review) and the international strategy, as well as STFC's programmes in education, training and public outreach. The SPO has two other Directors:

• Marc Balcells - Director, Isaac Newton group of Telescopes (link opens in a new window), La Palma
• Gary Davis - Director, Joint Astronomy Centre (link opens in a new window)

Janet is supported in running the directorate by:

• Peter Fletcher, Head of  Education, Outreach and International
• Colin Vincent,  Head of Astronomy

• Neil Pratt, Head of Light Sources & Neutrons Division
