Share, Improve, Develop: A FREE interactive workshop to explore student involvement in STEM communication activities (link opens in a new window)

British Science Association - Strictly Engineers (link opens in a new window)
Engineers have the opportunity to be mentored by professional graphic designers and public engagement specialists through a one day workshop designed to develop their verbal and visual communication skills, plus a three day all expenses paid trip to the British Science Festival in Aberdeen to display their poster as part of a special exhibition.

Naked Scientists Podcasts (link opens in a new window)
The Naked Scientists are a media-savvy group of physicians and researchers from Cambridge University who use radio, live lectures, and the Internet to strip science down to its bare essentials, and promote it to the general public. Podcasts from the Naked Scientists are supported by the STFC.

  • How did the universe begin and how will it end?
  • Where did the Sun and Earth and other planets in the solar system come from?
  • What is matter made of?
  • Is there life on Mars, or on planets around other stars in the galaxy?

These are some of the big questions that scientists are trying to answer with the help of the Science and Technology Facilities Council ("the Council") funding and facilities.
